SimuTech made use of ANSYS ICEM, an advanced meshing tool, to simplify the thousands of panes making up the organic wing design and create a fluid dynamics mesh inside the entire building.

Stanley Widmer came up with an idea to create a plastic molded double hull boat that would be safer than existing steel designs. That idea is now patented and has been funded by the US government to build a test boat to prove out the concept.

For one consulting project, MDS was tasked with resolving HVAC issues of an existing residential building. With the original HVAC design, it was thought that the always present natural wind flow would provide sufficient cooling for the interior of the house. However, the extensive amount of windows in the building was thought to be causing uneven temperature distribution resulting in some unpleasant effects for the residents.

Karco Engineering performed real life standard crash tests for Les Plastiques Majoly. The crash tests were partly successful and thus needed to be simulated in order to improve the design.

A study was commissioned to confirm the feasibility of installing an SPS-based fendering system to protect the side shell structure on an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) vessel in way of the boat loading area. The existing methodology was to generate cofferdams in the region of ship impact to protect the main hull.

Horst Welding was interested in performing a relative structural comparison between their existing design, and a newly developed concept. Of particular interest was the optimization in the load transfer to the Kubota tractor. It was recognized that a physical prototype would be expensive and take signicant time to build, and perform field testing.
